Sunflower farming is emerging as a promising agricultural opportunity to help address hunger and food insecurity across Karamoja, where climate change is increasingly disrupting the production of traditional staple crops. Through YeshuaLife, sunflower production is being adopted as a resilient agricultural approach that can provide farmers with opportunities to produce, generate income, and strengthen their livelihoods. As many people in Karamoja continue to struggle with hunger and joblessness, YeshuaLife is using agriculture to create meaningful work opportunities, enabling community members to earn an income, support their families, and build more sustainable livelihoods. The sunflower harvest is now demonstrating the results of this effort, as workers bring their crops from the fields and prepare them. By introducing and supporting sunflower production, YeshuaLife is helping communities adapt to changing climate conditions while making productive use of available farmland. The initiative represents more than growing a crop; it is about creating opportunities, strengthening food security, generating employment, and building a more resilient future for communities across Karamoja. Wheat production is taking a new step in Karamoja as YeshuaLife brings modern harvesting methods into the fields. Using harvesters, farmers are able to gather wheat more efficiently and bring in their crops at scale, turning months of hard work into a productive harvest. The Karamoja Harvesting Initiative is a global solution focused on fighting hunger and food insecurity in the Karamoja region of Uganda. The initiative supports local communities by using combine harvesters and modern agricultural equipment to efficiently harvest crops, reduce post-harvest losses, and increase food production. By introducing modern farming technology, the initiative aims to empower communities to produce more food, improve food security, and build a more sustainable future for the people of Karamoja.

Turning Green Crops into Livestock Feed at Karamoja Farm

At Karamoja Farm, YeshuaLife is processing green crops such as maize and grasses into silage, creating a reliable source of nutritious feed for livestock.The crops are harvested and chopped into small pieces while still fresh and moist, ideally at around 60% to 70% moisture. The chopped material is then tightly compacted in silos, pits, or heavy-duty silage bags to remove trapped air and create the conditions needed for proper preservation. Through this process, fresh green crops can be stored and preserved as valuable livestock feed for use when fresh pasture and feed are limited. Silage processing at Karamoja Farm is helping strengthen livestock production, make better use of locally grown crops, and support more sustainable and resilient farming through YeshuaLife.

Sorghum Takes Root in Karamoja as a New Agricultural Future Begins

For the first time, sorghum has been planted and harvested in Karamoja, marking an important milestone for agriculture and food security in the region. The successful harvest demonstrates the potential of introducing new crops suited to local farming conditions. Through the support of YeshuaLife and the Robert Kayanja Bucket Initiative, the project is giving communities an opportunity to explore sorghum production as a source of food and livelihoods. Farmers are also being introduced to modern agricultural practices and technology. The harvest is being carried out using combine harvesters, making the process faster and more efficient. This first sorghum harvest represents a practical step toward expanding agricultural opportunities, strengthening food production, and building greater resilience among communities in Karamoja. This achievement is an invitation to partners, organizations, farmers, investors, and well-wishers to join us in expanding this work across Karamoja. Elijah’s Initiative Fighting Malnutrition Through Sustainable Solutions

Elijah’s Initiative has been a building solution for a healthier future in Karamoja and across Uganda, by tackling malnutrition and hunger through practical, sustainable nutrition solutions. At the heart of this work is the Elijah’s Meal Program, a beacon of hope that goes beyond providing food to offer life-saving nourishment to mothers, babies, the sick, vulnerable individuals, and people suffering from malnutrition. Implemented in the Karamoja region from 2020 to 2026, Elijah’s Meal demonstrated its potential to combat severe malnutrition and reduce fatalities in communities affected by hunger and starvation.Within just two weeks of consumption, individuals experienced significant recovery, highlighting the life-saving impact of this nutritional intervention. Recently, Elijah’s Meal has been distributed to additional communities across Karamoja, continuing the fight against hunger and helping families access nutritious food when they need it most.The solution is available not only through our community programs but also to individuals and supporters who want to take part in the mission. Afri Aid Program

The Afri Aid Program was a humanitarian initiative carried out in 2014 to provide food assistance to people affected by hunger and hardship in South Sudan. The program involved transporting and delivering food supplies to communities in need, offering practical support during a difficult period. The humanitarian food relief mission was officially flagged off by H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of Uganda, and was led by Pastor Robert Kayanja and Salim Saleh, demonstrating a strong commitment to humanitarian support and solidarity with communities affected by the crisis.
